Make time for breakfast on the first European Breakfast Day! With non-communicable diseases on the rise, and many Europeans skipping breakfast, the Breakfast is Best campaign is calling on stakeholders across Europe to address the importance of breakfast in healthy lifestyle choices and combating health inequalities. Judith Liddell, Secretary General, of The European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) points out “That is a worrying trend that we need to address as a society. A good breakfast forms an essential part of a healthy and balanced diet.” First European Breakfast Day To mark this initiative, the first ever European Breakfast Day will be launched at the Brussels Press Club on Tuesday, 24 April 2012, in Brussels. This unique event will bring together European institution decision-makers, NGOs, the media and other health supporters, all of whom share a common goal: to encourage all European citizens to make time for breakfast. Join the debate The interactive “Ask the Experts” event will be led by four key campaign member representatives. This dynamic format will see our experts move from table to table, presenting the issues, providing insight into the science behind the benefits of breakfast and answering participants’ questions.
